Visiting Park Guell in Barcelona, Spain

We’re both addicts – travel addicts.

We work to support our travel habit. It’s not uncommon for both of us to work 50 hours per week at our day jobs, and we only get three weeks of vacation per year. But every year, we’re able to pack an insane amount of travel into those few short weeks. (Here’s how we did it in 2013 and some itineraries to help you make the most of your time).

Since 2008, we’ve been writing this blog and chronicling our adventures. Travel Addicts was born out of our experiences and wanting the share the life of travel with others. Just because you have limited time off doesn’t mean you can’t see the world.

We’ve pretty much always had the travel bug. When he was a child, Lance’s parents ensured he saw all 50 U.S. states by the age of 15. Laura’s parents sent her to England for a month in preparation for moving halfway across the U.S. for college in Manhattan. Over the last 15 years, we’ve travelled together across 5 continents taking in street art, food markets, music, and the tasty beverages of our destinations. Along the way, we’ve indulged out love for:

• Photography, especially in places like Derry, Northern Ireland, and the Christmas markets of Germany
• Adventures such as hot air ballooning in Cappadocia, Turkey and over the Valley of the Kings in Egypt
• Food markets in Vienna, Austria and Siena, Italy
Scuba diving, even in unexpected places like Orlando
• Exploring places closer to home like unusual museums in Philadelphia

Since we both work full time, we’ve learned how to make our vacation time work for us. We’ve mastered the use of frequent flyer miles and hotel loyalty programs to subsidize our travel adventures.

When we’re not working our professional jobs or traveling the world, Lance can be found with a good book under his arm and Laura is usually tending her garden.
